Proposal Preparation

The Research, Innovation & Impact Business Center (RIIBC) Pre-Award team is here to assist you in preparing your proposal for submission.  Please reach out to us for help with understanding the Request for Proposal (RFP)/Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA)/Solicitation, development of the budget and justification documents, as well as other common components such as Current and Pending Support (C&P) documents, subrecipient commitment forms, and other institutional financial or support documents, and guidance on electronic submission systems, authorized signatories, and more.

  • For internally funded opportunities (funding that is provided by one Unit at UA to another Unit at UA) and for externally funded opportunities that qualify as gifts or donations or which require 501(c)3 status for eligibility, Research, Innovation & Impact Business Center (RIIBC) Pre-Award team can help with understanding application requirements and deadlines, budget development, and coordinating with the UA Foundation and Sponsored Project & Contracting Services.
  • For externally funded opportunities, the Research, Innovation & Impact Business Center (RIIBC) will help route through the University’s UAccess Research (UAR) system for required review and approvals by all appropriate parties. The minimum required elements needed for routing a proposal in UAR are the following:
    1. Project Abstract/Summary or Scope of Work (SOW) document

    2. Detailed Budget that include sponsor specific formats and requirements

    3. Budget Justification – narrative description of each budget item
