Reclassification Process

Reclassification is a change in the classification of a position due to permanent and significant changes to duties and responsibilities. May require a salary adjustment*.

  • Unit sends Research, Discovery & Innovation Employee Services an email from the Department Head requesting/approving the initiation of the reclassification process

  • Justification memo

  • Current resume/Curriculum Vitae (CV) for employee

  • Salary comparison information, when applicable

  • Research, Discovery & Innovation Employee Services sends the request to Associate Vice President for Research for review and approval

  • Once approved, Research, Discovery & Innovation Employee Services enters the necessary transaction(s) into the University's employee management system via UAccess

*Salary adjustments of 10% or higher require Human Resources review and approval
